It’s that time of year again: Wimbledon is upon us which means every hour is Pimms o’clock and it’s completely justified to stuff your face with strawberries. Brilliant! Oh, and for those of us who like to dabble in such things, there’s some damn good tennis on show down in SW19 too.
But even if you don’t know your break points from your tie breaks and have any idea what a Mardy Fish is (it’s not a grumpy fish by the way…), you can still join in the fun and celebrate this world famous and iconic British sporting event in its 125thyear!
Lola’s Pimms Cupcake
If you have a sweet tooth then grab yourself a special edition Pimms cupcake! It has a lemon, raspberry and Pimms sponge and is topped with a delicious Pimms butter cream, raspberries and a lime wedge. One word: YUM! It’s only available during June so don’t miss out!
Time for tea? London’s famous hotel is celebrating the infamous tournament with a Wimbledon-themed afternoon tea – complete with tennis-inspired pastries, champagne and strawberries and cream.
Weather permitting, seek out one of the alfresco big screens dotted about the capital and do your bit to support the British players at this years’ tournament. There’s always an electric atmosphere at Murray matches so get your union jacks out and get ready to cheer / scream! Check out the following links to find a screen near you:
Here’s the perfect gift to take along to any summery BBQ’s, picnics or dinner parties. The Tennis Tin comes with 10 of the finest biscuits from the amazing Biscuiteers, each intricately decorated with a tennis theme. Or maybe you could just buy them and eat them yourself? (I’m not going to lie, I considered it!)
Tesco’s Strawberries and Cream Sandwich
Ok, so this is a bit odd but it’s Wimbledon-related so I felt I had to include it. Tesco have released this weird but brilliant lunchtime treat which can be your for just £1! I’m not completely convinced, but at the same time the part of my brain that controls intrigue has gone into overdrive. I’ll be buying one next time I pass Tesco.
Happy Wimbledon everybody! …C’mon Tim!
