Hawaii Five-0 (Remake Review)

We all know the theme tune, we all know the catchphrase…but how many of us actually ever watched the show!  Hawaii Five O was a sixties cop drama set in Hawaii which has recently been remade and updated.  The original was iconic but I have to admit not one which I ever tagged “Must See TV”.

The Killing

Film aficionados have probably watched a foreign (probably French) film with subtitles at one time or another. I can imagine them thinking beforehand ‘This is going to be a waste of time’ but if the film turned out to be good then I expect they may have searched for some other examples of the genre.

How did you miss… Carnivàle (TV Review)

If you have never heard of Carnivàle it may simply mean it is not a TV show for you. Not that it’s exclusive but it is demanding and doesn’t appeal to everyone. Let’s be honest – Carnivàle does carry a certain amount of weirdness. It’s a Lady Gaga amongst TV shows – but without the global commercial success and unnecessary pseudo-intellectual contexts. However, I highly recommend taking the time to watch the whole of it – as the creator Daniel Knauf said: “you may not understand everything that goes on but it does make a certain sense”.
