Beady Eye – 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' Review
Beady Eye could be described as the smoking debris from the Great Oasis Crash of ’09, the climactic battle between Gallagher brothers that left Noel’s guitar smashed and a band erased from existence. While Noel has taken a bit more time to rise from the ashes of the once great indie rockers, Liam has sprung out of the traps early, (possibly) to get the jump on his older brother. Eager to come out with a sound of his own, to break away from the shackles of the Oasis brand, to kick off the cobwebs of the past and leap forward into a bright, shining future!
Or maybe not. For a man who has come out in the press so willing to leave the past behind he’s dragging an awful lot of it with him. Never has an album with such an insight into the future been so determined to look back.
