Rich Swann Indefinitely Suspended by WWE

“WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Rich Swann has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest.” – WWE

Former Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann has been arrested early this morning on suspicion of kidnapping/false imprisonment and domestic battery. As his arrest was widely reported on social media and even on the Twitter account of Gainesville Police, WWE replied with the necessary and justified decision related to the situation.

We’re not going to give the details of the story, but Swann is currently held in jail after his arrest. Kidnapping and False Imprisonment: Adult is a third-degree felony in Florida that is punishable with up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine, if convicted. Swann was also charged with battery (touching or strike), a first degree misdemeanor that is punishable with up to one year in jail or 12 months probation and a $1,000 fine, if convicted.

Swann was scheduled to face Drew Gulak on this week’s episode of RAW for the #1 contender spot for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. No words yet from WWE on who will replace Swann tomorrow. As noted in WWE’s policy, a talent will be “immediately terminated” if convicted of the crime(s) they are charged with. Rich Swann would so be fired immediately if convicted.
