Lucha Underground Season 4 Officially Announced for 2018

Here are the news every Believer was waiting for, there will be a Season 4 of Lucha Underground next year. As Season 3 of Lucha Underground came to an end a few weeks ago, the news were not on the side of a 4th Season. After a fantastic end of season with Ultima Lucha Tres, many thought the show couldn’t have ended this way. But the little sentence “To be continued” by the end of the final segment was giving the Believers a little hope.

Lucha Underground is reuniting wrestlers from different backgrounds, including AAA and IMPACT, in a weekly series mixing lucha libre wrestling and cinematic sequences. Robert Rodriguez, “Desperado” and “Sin City” director and owner of El Rey Network, has produced and brodcasted the show alongside Mark Burnett of One Three Media.

The show has pushed many boundaries with its hardcore style, the place given to intergender matches, the drama aspect of the taped sequences and the talents that emerged. Prince Puma, aka Ricochet, has main-evented the first episode alongside Johnny Mundo, they were main-eventing Ultima Lucha Tres 3 years later. Pentagon Dark has become a Superstar despite his violent and dark character.

As you can see in the video announcement, Johnny Mundo will be apart of the Season 4. As he lost his career match, Prince Puma is not set to come back. Dario Cueto too, as he was shot dead. After her recent issues with AAA, Sexy Star may not be apart of it.

Champions Pentagon Dark, The Mack, Killshot and Dante Fox should obviously be back. As well as Paul London and his Rabbit Tribe, Fénix, Cage, Jeremiah Crane (Sami Callihan), Taya, The Reptile Tribe of Kobra Moon (without Pindar) and The Monster Matanza Cueto. Rey Mysterio will be back as he’s one of the Creatives of the show, alongside Chavo Guerrero Jr. and others.

If Angelico, Dr. Wagner Jr, Pimpinela Escarlata, Daga and King Cuerno appeared at Ultima Lucha Tres, their return to The Temple has yet to be confirmed. No words yet on when the whole Lucha Underground season will be taped, and if it will still be from The original Temple at Boyler Heights, Los Angeles. The tapings for the whole season are taking place 2 days a week on a 2-months period of time.
