An event ten years in the making – Avengers: Infinity War (Trailer)

After ten years of movies from Marvel Studios, the film that everything has been building to is nearly upon us, and with only six months left to wait, the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War has dropped (minor spoiler for Thor: Ragnarok ahead).

Directed by the Russo brothers (Captain America: Civil War), the film is set to unite nearly every major character that has appeared in the seventeen films so far, as well as those who will be introduced in the upcoming Black Panther.

As is usually the case, from the sounds of things, this official trailer isn’t quite the same one that debuted at Comic-Con earlier in the year, retaining a level of exclusivity for those in attendance. For one, the Guardians of the Galaxy appear much less prominent in this new trailer, and gone is the climactic battle that sees Josh Brolin’s Thanos use his immense power to pull a planet out of the sky.

Instead, however, we get some glimpses at some of the Avengers reuniting and better look at one of the major action set pieces; the Battle of Wakanda; which highlights just how incredible the scale of this film is going to be, especially in comparison to other superhero movies.

Alongside that, we’ve got some shots of Spider-Man jumping into the action, a break in at Doctor Strange’s Sanctum, and Thor’s unedited, post-Ragnarok look (in the comic-con trailer, he still had both of his eyes, rather than his eye-patch – presumably to keep a certain beat of that film unspoiled).
