The award winning Wolf Alice are back with new single ‘Yuk Foo’, the first track to be released from their upcoming new album, Visions of a Life, due for release on September 29th.

Following a mysterious invitation to sign up for what turned out to be a promotion campaign for the new album, the band sent out postcards to fans, featuring photos, lyrics and track titles from the album. Among the titles was ‘Yuk Foo’, which got its first play last night on BBC Radio 1’s as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World.

‘Yuk Foo’ is the appropriately rude awakening we were in need of. A heavy track with Rowsell’s realest vocals, raging through a storm of frustration, with the most poignant of lyrics; “I have feelings, ‘cos I’m a human // Totally self destructing, constantly consuming”.

This track is just over two minutes of sweet brutality, giving us just enough, while leaving us ready for more. If you’ve had a bad day, or just want to let off some steam, we definitely recommend this track (particularly the uncensored version). Reaching new levels of raw, emotional energy, ‘Yuk Foo’ is a great indication of what’s to come from the band’s long-awaited second album.
