Nintendo confirms SNES Classic console

Almost 27(!) years after its initial launch, Nintendo’s Super Nintendo Entertainment System, or SNES if you want to save time, is back.

Nintendo’s miniature SNES will come pre-loaded with 21 classic games, all now up-scaled and displayed through your swanky high-definition TV.

For £79.99 you get the mini SNES system, one HDMI cable, one USB power cable, two wired SNES Classic controllers, and endless nights pipping your pals to the finish on Super Mario Kart.

Sounds good if you can find one.

The 21 games included are as followed:

Contra III: The Alien Wars

Donkey Kong Country

Earth Bound

Final Fantasy III

F-ZERO

Kirby Super Star

Kirb’s Dream Course

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Mega Man X

Secret of Mana

Star Fox

Star Fox 2

Street Fighter 2 Turbo: Hyper Fighting

Super Castlevania 4

Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts

Super Mario Kart

Super Mario: Legend of the Seven Stars

Super Mario World

Super Metroid

Super Punch-Out!

Yoshi’s Island

Star Fox 2, the sequel to the original Star Fox was created during the Super Nintendo era but was never released anywhere, until now. Which is a nice incentive for fans and completists alike.

Nintendo’s mini Super Nintendo Entertainment System launches in Europe on 29th September. Pre-order now to avoid being politely ripped off n eBay or fighting angry parents at toy stores like the Arnie Christmas classic  Jingle All The Way.
