WCPW: Exit Wound, on 6th March, aims to transform what would otherwise have been an ordinary evening at Northumbria Students Union in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, by presenting a card that opens the week with appearances from regular names such as “Local Hero” Joe Hendry, “The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay, WCPW Heavyweight Champion Drew Galloway and, in addition, WCPW Internet Champion Cody Rhodes.
ICW’s Fight Club On Tour continues to grind its way around the UK, taking in another three dates over the space of the week. The O2 Academy in Liverpool is the first stop on 10th, with notable matches already announced including BT Gunn against Chris Ridgeway, ICW Heavyweight Champion Trent Seven facing Drew Galloway and “Liverpool’s No.1” Zack Gibson taking on “Iron Man” Joe Coffey. On 11th it’s the turn of Motion in Bristol to host the touring Scots, where Joe Hendry faces Kid Fite, Galloway and Coffey are opponents for the evening and Trent Seven faces the challenge of Jack Jester. And finally, the Leeds O2 rounds off this leg of the tour, with Galloway facing Chris Renfrew and Wolfgang taking on Jester.
Not to be outdone by those from North of the Border, Southside put on no less than three shows in the space of two days at the Sheffield Corporation, beginning with All Hail The Queen on 10th, and then followed by Day of Reckoning 15 in the afternoon of 11th and Risky Business 2017 later the same evening. All Hail The Queen will be an all-female show, including the likes of Nixon Newell, Violet O’Hara, Shanna, Kay Lee Ray and US indie sensation Candice LeRae. Day of Reckoning 15 and Risky Business 2017 are more traditional affairs that feature talent of both genders, the highlights perhaps belonging more to the latter show, with recent WWE UK Championship Tournament entrant Joseph Connors taking on former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Nick “Magnus” Aldis and Bubblegum clashing with exceptional Lucha Underground alumni Fenix.
XWA make the most of having achieved a coup in securing the talents of NJPW, DDT and WWE Cruiserweight Classic competitor Kota Ibushi, announcing that he will take on fellow Japanese star Gota Ihashi at Gold Rush Rumble, emanating from the Colchester Charter Hall. Ibushi and Ihashi will then team against Jimmy Havoc and Thomas Dawkins the next day at Please Don’t Die 2, from the Resistance Gallery in London. Other notable additions to the Gold Rush Rumble card include Britwres veterans Jody Fleisch, Johnny Storm, former TNA and Pro Wrestling Noah superstar Doug Williams and Lucha Underground standout Pentagon Dark (formerly known as Pentagon Jnr).
