The Wrestling Forecast – 26th September to 2nd October 2016

Apologies in advance if this week’s edition sounds a little like ‘The Southside Report’, but they dominate proceedings with an eye-watering five shows over a three-day period this week. They open things up on Friday 30th with Adrenaline Rush 2016, at the St Neots Priory Centre, the main event seeing ‘The Death Machine’ Sami Callihan take on ‘The Aerial Assassin’ Will Ospreay. Southside rock up at the Rushcliffe Leisure Centre in Nottingham for both Need for Speed – Day of Reckoning 12.5 and, later in the same day, their annual Speed King Tournament on Saturday 1st. On the first show, Will Opsreay faces Lucha Underground’s Brian Cage, Kay Lee Ray and Stevie Boy meet Sami Callihan and Jessika Havok, ‘The Heavyweight House of Pain’ Stixx clashes styles with Fenix, El Ligero faces Karma Sakamoto, and Bubblegum, Lio Rush, Chris Ridgeway and another Lucha Underground regular Matt Cross (a.k.a. Son of Havoc) meet in a Fatal Four-Way match.

Sunday 2nd sees Southside travel to the Corporation night club in Sheffield for another double-header consisting of Queen of the Ring and Kirbymania. The former begins in the afternoon and takes the form of a tournament featuring Melina, Kay Lee Ray, Leah Vaughan, Nixon Newell, Jessika Havok, Alex Windsor, Lana Austin and Viper.

Kirbymania follows on the same evening and matches announced include Sami Callihan against BT Gunn, Bubblegum meeting Mark Haskins, Pete Dunne matching English Strong Style against the Lucha Libre stylings of Fenix and the eponymous Martin Kirby facing storied rival El Ligero.

And just to prove that other promotions exist out there and your writer has not been taken over by Southside, Tidal Championship Wrestling present Each Time I Die, at the Leeds O2 Academy, also on Sunday 2nd. Highlights include ‘The Man for All Seasons’ Xander Cooper facing ‘The Amazing’ Matt Myers, Liam Slater meeting Kazma Sakamoto and TCW Heavyweight Champion Rampage Brown defending his title against Wolfgang.
