Portsmouth’s Victorious Festival has announced the latest acts to join this year’s festival.
The Darkness, Laura Mvula and We Are Scientists are amongst the latest additions to the festival, along with over 100 other acts.
The festival, which takes place on the 29th and 30th August, will feature headline acts Ray Davies, Super Furry Animals and Johnny Marr, as well as chart topper Tinie Tempah, Primal Scream and Basement Jaxx.
Victorious continues to show support for local music, giving slots for Southampton’s New Desert Blues and Southsea’s own Kassassin Street, plus a host of Hampshire bands across the bill.
Furthering new talent regardless of locale is also a commitment of Victorious Festival, which sees Seafret, Twin Wild and Will Joseph Cook joining The Wytches and Honeyblood in performing over the weekend.
Festival Director, Andy Marsh, commented, “Victorious is as much about home grown talent as it is the big names on the Bill.
“It gives new and undiscovered acts a platform to play on a big scale to very large audience. Festivals for me have always been about giving something new a listen and watching the next big thing before they are discovered!”
Last year saw 70,000 visitors attend the festival, hosted on Southsea Seafront.
Festival tickets also give visitors access to a range of seafront attractions, including Southsea Castle and Blue Reef Aquarium.
Tickets are priced at just £25 per day until July 3rd and are on sale now at www.victoriousfestival.co.uk.
