While some would argue that the perfect summer tune is a lone acoustic guitar in the sunshine, others would suggest it’s a banging dance number perfect for the late evening twilight. I would have to disagree; until you’ve heard Chet Faker’s latest work, you’re missing out on an entirely different spectrum.
Australian born Chet Faker’s latest single ‘1998’ is the musical personification of a summer’s evening spent with beers and friends. Its fluid, pulsating beat is thoroughly sweet, relaxing and in no way obnoxious. Paired with vocals that are chilled and almost mesmerising, you’d be a fool not to add this to your summer playlist this year.
Effortless groove and a smooth intoxicating melody make for a perfect track. Simply put, ‘1998’ is modern electronica at its purest and most elegant. This track is unassuming, modest and bursting with potential.
Faker’s debut album ‘Built On Glass’ is available now, and single ‘1998’ will be released on 28th July through Future Classic and Opulent.
