With the new EP release just on the horizon, Sean Grant & the WolfGang have released a taster on Youtube, a new video for their brilliant track ‘I Am The Devil’.
Given the song’s story of forbidden love, almost like a religious Romeo and Juliet, we delve through the true story of Grant’s grandparents who fled Ireland to escape the stigma that was attached to a Catholic marrying a Protestant. Developing on from that we are taken into the heartbreaking scenes where Grant’s grandfather became alcohol dependant through the constant pressure he and his wife were put under.
The story is a fantastic one, one which would inspire film directors across the world. Instead, it is delivered in the most beautiful of ways. Told to us through a song that echoes folk, rock and roll, and blues, coming across as capturing the beautiful story telling of ‘Mannish Boy’ (by blues legend Muddy Waters), and twisting it into Grant’s own catchy, and haunting piece of artwork, the listener can’t help but completely be taken along the journey that Grant performs for us.
Grant is a natural storyteller, one who has a songwriting capacity way beyond his years. He grabs the reader with fantastic stories from his past, and his family’s past. On top of having an amazing story telling ability is the melody he creates to carry along his fables, a true folk-rock storyteller with more music skills than most others in his field, past and present.

8th May Esquires, Bedford
22nd May The Horn, St Albans
