Out with a new double A-Side this month is Hole’s Courtney Love, the singles come toting expectations of a new album, which was originally set for release xmas 2013.
These new songs were produced by Michael Beinhorn and recorded in Los Angeles, California and are the first new solo material Courtney has released since 2004”s America’s Sweetheart. ‘You Know My Name’ is an undeniable slice of perfect punk pop and ‘Wedding Day’ a visceral onslaught of guitar riffs with Courtney’s customary impassioned vocals. Both tracks Courtney cites as some of the best music she has made in years. These new tracks are meaty, tasty and filled with pure rock. The angst and attitude poured into Courtney’s sound is tangible. These new songs hark back to her acquaintance and fellow female punk icon Brody Dalle back in the heights of The Distillers. It’s no-frills, shredding melodic catchy hardcore punk.
The new AA single released on May 4 via digital download with a limited edition 7” vinyl to follow.
The UK is a second home to Courtney and she is thrilled to be returning explaining:”I feel most at home in the UK and can’t wait to catch up on TOWIE and play in my second and hopefully, inevitably my first home. I grew up half a British citizen and I just miss it. I can’t wait to play for my Brits”.
The multi platinum selling, Grammy and Golden Globe nominated recording artist will be joined on stage as part of her band with her friend and UK cult legend Ginger Wildheart of The Wildhearts.
