CHAMPS - White Satellite (Single Review)

CHAMPS – White Satellite (Single Review)

Rating:

Up and coming indie rock duo CHAMPS are to release their latest single White Satellite on June 16, following the release of their debut Down Like Gold on label Play It Again Sam. Having already acquired an array of positive nods from critics throughout the industry, CHAMPS are building momentum and White Satellite promises propel them further forward with ease.

Brothers Michael and David Champion make up the entirety of CHAMPS; two musicians from the tiniest of villages on the Isle of Wight. They take seaside indie-folk to a new and curious level with a sound that is infectious and contemporary, whilst paying homage to their self-confessed influence from The Beatles.

Their uncommon and icy vocals make for a soothing experience and the dominating drums of White Satellite are sure to make you drum along unconsciously. The almost hypnotising melody is captivating and it’s no wonder that this duo is making itself known in today’s industry.

Far from the humdrum monotony of indie, CHAMPS have produced something that is highly accessible, but not quite on the cusp of innovation. With a little push and the experience that will come with time, they have the potential to push boundaries and grow in this ever-changing industry.

CHAMPS are currently gearing up for a huge summer tour, including several festival appearances. Catch them on the dates below, and be sure to download White Satellite on June 16.
