Escape To New York – Growing Pains (Single Review)

Rating:

Founded in July 2012, Escape To New York are an indie band from Derby, consisting of Dan Burchell (vocals/guitar), Ben Gurer (guitar), Drew Davis (bass), and John Bullock (drums).  Following two headlining gigs at local festivals, supporting Funeral For A Friend on tour, and appearances at Reading and Leeds, the group are finally ready to unleash their debut single Growing Pains.

Taken from their forthcoming E.P. A Long Time Between Monsters, Growing Pains begins innocuously with bright and clear guitar lines, building layer by layer into a lush and poignant indie rock track. It’s a strong track, loaded with giddy promises of what to expect from the band’s future material.

The track will receive its premiere this Saturday (November 23) on Dean Jackson’s BBC radio show The Beat, and will be available to stream the next day on Soundcloud, Youtube, and Dailymotion.
