London alternative-rock group Bleech have just dropped a free download of their latest single ‘Not Like You’. The first single taken from their new album Humble Sky, Not Like You is a frantic and exciting slice of rock, with a sound custom-made for summer. The track starts on a thrilling high which is maintained for the entirety of its 3 minute-plus runtime, with a skilful blend of melodies and fuzzy, reverb-tinged guitars and raw vocals.
Bleech’s new material was recorded January 2013 at The Courtyard Studios in Oxfordshire with the help of producer Ian Davenport (Band of Skulls, Supergrass, Phil Selway). Bleech have also just revealed a video of their recent live session at St. Gabriel’s Church, London, ahead of their BBC6 session. The group has praised the merits of playing in such an unusual venue:
‘Not all vicars are as rock and roll as the one in our street, but we were still surprised when he said yes to a large drum kit and two screaming amplifiers being wheeled onto the altar. He said we could do it if it was acoustic, well we did it…semi-acoustic shall we say. Our ears were still ringing afterwards’.
Not Like You is available now as a free download via Bleech’s soundcloud.
