S.O.S comes with a video based on the Ryan Gosling film Drive: which, for the record, has an excellent soundtrack. Waylayers’ effort is perhaps too upbeat to fit in with the themes of the film however. But that’s off topic of course. A slightly repetitive slice of pop, the chorus sounds like Chris Martin on helium. That said it’s not a bad song – because of the lead singer’s voice the chorus rises above the verses, which are where the repetition becomes an issue. S.O.S is a good song for what it is: inoffensive radio fodder.
