Her Parents – Lithuanian Mercedes (Single Review)

Rating:

Featuring current and ex-member of the likes of Dananananaykroyd, Stair to Korea and Internet Forever, London-based quartet Her Parents have been described as ‘London’s most visceral punk quartet’, a bold claim indeed when you consider the vibrancy of the scene, yet new single ‘Lithuanian Mercedes’, culled from new album “Happy Birthday”, has a fairly good stab at backing this up

Clocking in at less than 90 seconds, we are greeted with an overly simplistic riff infused with a seemingly jocular and irreverent tone, but that soon lapses into lashings of feral noise and speed, producing a disorientating effect that’s only marred slightly by some flat and uninspired vocals. The band has received the thumbs up from publications ranging from Rock Sound to The Guardian so if you fancy discovering more, give the single a listen and catch the guys on one of their upcoming tour dates before some new punk pretenders supersede them.
