Sometimes a video can be so good that you forget to pay attention to the music that accompanies it. This was one such instance- I was so entranced with the views and the artwork on display here that took me over a minute to realise I hadn’t put the volume on yet. That is nothing against the music of Ruarri Joseph; Until The Luck Runs Dry is a folky dream, majestic and soulful while remaining slow and beautiful. Yet the video steals the show: providing incredible views of Cornwall as Tony Plant creates art across a beach. Destined to last a short amount of time, it’s difficult not to feel disappointed as you watch the swirly shapes (that was honestly my best attempt at describing it, that’s art for you) become coated with foamy tide. An impressive introduction to both Ruarri and Tony’s work.
