Pyramids – Do You Think You’re Enough? (Single Review)

Rating:

The continued merging of indie-rock and electro-pop into something bright and exciting shows no sign of slowing down as ‘Do You Think You’re Enough?’ the first single from the debut album by Pyramids is apt to prove. Helmed by Tim Nordwind of OK Go and Drea Smith of He Say/She Say fame, their debut creation “Brightest Darkest Day’ may have a slightly nonsensical title, but delivers the goods throughout eleven tracks of brooding swagger, with this first single encapsulating the bands’ sound. Fat dirty bass, insistent percussion and Smith’s captivating tones all conspire to get you moving in some form or another, and while the extended acoustic outro comes as a surprise, it fits the flow of the track to a tee, and hints at a band unafraid to take a risk, something we should all be grateful for.
