London based electro-pop group The Ghosts were first introduced to one another in New York by The Charlatans drummer Jon Brookes, who also guest drums on their latest single due for release on March 4th, ‘Everything Will Do’. The single comes from their debut album, ‘The End’, and has been chosen to feature in ABC Network’s new drama ‘Red Widow’, written by the Twilight and Dexter writer Melissa Rosenberg
Accompanying the single is a video directed by Tim Burton collaborator Alex Kyrou, who also directed their previous videos. The track has a very indie feel, but with a much fuller orchestra including strings and synths to pack out the sound. Vocalist Alex Starling’s voice has those cool rock n roll tones, creating a track that isn’t quite as ‘pop’ as their electro-pop classification suggests.
Their sound is uber-modern and super crisp, their music has an ease about it that is instantly inviting. This is festival music; the kind of song that will become the soundtrack for get-togethers with friends, and will always remind you of those days.
‘Everything Will Do’ somehow manages to remain quite light, despite a dark and brooding undertone; it’s a reflection of madness rather than madness itself. With it’s cross-genre appeal, it has all the potential of becoming a favourite in many people’s playlist.
