Bleech – Break My Nose (Single Review)

Rating:

Angst. It’s the one word that comes to mind while listening to Bleech. Whether it’s the soft disappointment or the loud, raw anger, the London based trio band has a lot of emotion to let out.

The intriguing mix of 1960s and 1990s punk rock is not something you normally hear from a band fronted by a sister duo. In their newly released Youtube single “Break My Nose,” sisters Jennifer and Katherine O’Neill steal the show. The intensity of the two girls almost makes me want to see drummer Matt Bick do something wild.

“Break My Nose” has been released and rereleased on the band’s two albums and one EP in just the past year. Not only do they have the new video and three albums under their belt, but the band has also been touring around the greater part of western Europe on their own means.

On Bleech’s official website, it is said that the band was used to “crowds leaving when they saw girls setting up on stage.” I think the video for “Break My Nose” is a testament to that kind of drive a band has to have to make it in the music business, especially since front(wo)men usually are not taken as serious rockers.

The “Break My Nose” video and lyrics definitely prove that none of the band members plan on backing down any time soon.
