Ethan Ash’s music career began when he was 6 years old when he was given an acoustic guitar as a present. At the young age of 12 he had already had his first gig and ever since he has been dedicating his time to music. His first big step was with the release of his debut EP in 2010 which led to him playing a support slot for Seth Lakeman. This then led Ethan to getting invited to play a headline show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and his debut single from a second EP ‘Tried To Get Rid Of Me’ released later that year was chosen as iTunes single of the week.
2011 saw Ethan play at the main stage at The Secret Garden Party followed by sets at Guilfest, Bestival and the Cambridge Folk Festival. Later in 2011 he supported Ed Sheeran on his October sell out UK tour. Ethan’s acoustic style and soulful voice suited perfectly and gained him hundreds of new fans. He has also supported the likes of Newton Faulkner and Nick Harper and has received on-going support from BBC Introducing. Ethan also works with other artists with his song writing skills and has been working with former X-Factor contestant Janet Devlin in writing songs for her forthcoming debut album.
Now Ethan releases a six track EP, ‘Playing by Numbers’ due out on October the 1st. The EP is accompanied by a special 30 minute video of a live studio session of one of the tracks along with guest musicians.
