Frank Ocean and Azealia Banks join Bestival lineup

Hundreds of acts across 20 stages on 10 fields, headlining acts including New Order and Stevie Wonder and sets from The xx and Sigur Ros that you won’t see anywhere else. Is Bestival starting to sound up your street? Well, organisers have recently confirmed that hip-hop singer/songwriter Frank Ocean is joining the already star studded line up.

The 24 year old has already collaborated with artists as big as Jay Z and Kanye West and written songs for the likes of John Legend and Beyonce. With his mixtape ‘Nostalgia, Ultra’ about to land and taking second place in the BBC Sound of 2012 competition, the eyes of the collective music industry are upon him.

Rob da Bank said: “With the Friday headliner coming in a few weeks I thought we’d ramp up the excitement a bit more for Besti-goers with the addition of Frank Ocean. Frank is one of the most requested acts on our messageboards and he’s such an incredible performer – like a young Prince!”

Also confirmed is New York based rapper Azealia Banks. One of the most in-demand acts of 2012, her recent hit 212 Ft. Lazy Jay has refused to move itself from the singles chart. Azealia has cancelled her summer schedule of shows, so Bestival might be the only place you can catch her this summer!

With the Friday night headliner set to be announced on May 21st and more information to be announced, you can follow any updates and see the full line up at Tickets for the festival are available from most online vendors.
