One of the most significant metal bands of the last thirty years, Megadeth, have announced an exclusive one-off performance at Camden’s Electric Ballroom on 12 June. They are also set to appear on the Sunday of this year’s Download Festival.
Download ticket holders were treated to a secret pre-sale for the London show, before the tickets went on general release. Megadeth released their thirteenth studio album, aptly named Th1rt3en, last year. The album marked the seminal return of bass player Dave Ellefson, whose last involvement with the band prior to Th1rt3en was in 2002.
Speaking of the London performance, Dave Mustaine said: ‘It will be great to play for some of our oldest and dearest Londoner friends, but more importantly, I would like to dedicate this show to the memory of my dear friend, Dr. Jim Marshall OBE.’ The founder of world-famous Marshall amplifiers died earlier this month.
Tickets for Megadeth at the Electric Ballroom are available from www.ticketmaster.com and www.livenation.com.
